Markilux 6000 Awning, Textured Tiger Black in Guildford GU4

The brief was to create a living space that will serve both the side and back area of the property. The main living area was to protect from the sun and light rain for the whole family to enjoy ambient living and the rear area for quiet times when the children were asleep.

The main criteria was providing a product that complimented the period property when either in use or retracted and serve the large property patio with all the living area required.

These beautiful Markilux 6000 awnings were fitted side by side for the main patio covering an area of 10 meters wide and projecting 4 meters out while the rear patio was complimented with a solo awning 5 meters by 4 meters.

When we conducted our initial consultation, we advised the client of the potential issues when fitting such a large awning to old tyle stock bricks as they tend to be quite soft and combined with such a large projection, we needed to ensure the fixings were entirely secure.

Opting to use our “Spreader plate type A’, this bracket design doubles up on the bracket fixing and allowed for 24 fixings for each awning. When the awning itself is fitted, this design is barely visible adding to the sleek design.

This installation was made simple for our client as we dealt with everything from the initial advise, installation including all the electric supply all the way through to ensuring the awning had a 14-degree pitch to use in the rain.
