Markilux Pergola Stretch
The Markilux Pergola Stretch is a large-format, all-weather pergola awning capable of covering areas up to 25 × 7 m, and the winner of both the German Design Award Special Mention 2021 and the R+T Innovation Award 2021. Designed for extensive residential terraces, hotels, restaurants, and commercial outdoor spaces, its space-saving folding cover technology delivers impressive, all-weather sun protection at scale. Expertly installed across Sussex, Surrey, and Kent by AQ Blinds.
The Pergola Stretch is built around a folding fabric cover attached to track-guided support profiles. This innovative system enables large areas to be shaded with a slim, design-reduced appearance. The space-saving folding technology keeps the fabric cover taut at every extension position, while an integrated gutter in the front profile ensures safe water drainage even at the minimum pitch of 5°. Rainwater is channelled from the awning cover through the support posts directly to the ground.
A system coverboard protects the retracted fabric when not in use. The cassette measures 163 × 125 mm, and the system is available in a single-panel configuration covering up to 7 × 7 m (49 sqm), or as a coupled multi-panel system shading up to 25 × 7 m with five panels. In a multi-panel setup, each panel has its own independently controllable radio-controlled motor.
The Pergola Stretch uses perla FR as its dedicated fabric, waterproof and flame-retardant, making it well suited to commercial settings where fire-rating requirements apply.

Pergola awning Installation in Reading
Our brief was very simple and to the point – Our customer required an awning to run the full 8.5 meters across the back of the house and cover the terrace area to provide shade and rain protection from above as well as low sun in the evening that shone directly into the lounge.
Pergola awning Installation in Godalming, Surrey
Our client in Godalming wanted to add an awning to his property as part of a major re-fit including a patio and garden makeover. We were invited to visit the site for discussions.
Pergola Installation in Purley, Surrey
Our client, Mr W, contacted AQ Blinds looking for coverage for the terrace area at his house in Purley, Surrey.
The project brief only really detailed the problem the client had. In addition to this, the fitting area was a single-story part of the house and a single awning (without special spreader support plates) would have also caused a structural problem. The area was approximately 8 meters by 5 meters with York flagstone paving.
