Sustainable Sourcing & Manufacturing

We are fundamentally changing how we select materials and work with partners to reduce our environmental footprint before materials or products even reaches our factory.

Responsible Material Sourcing: Careful material selection is paramount. We continue to look deeply at the components and fabrics used in our manufacturing process, and wherever possible, we offer products manufactured from recycled components. We will continue to develop this aggressively to encourage development in sustainable material alternatives.
Product Longevity: We design and manufacture our products for maximum longevity and durability, ensuring our customers replace blinds less often, which inherently reduces waste.
Low-Energy Compatibility: We prioritise the design of products that are compatible with low-energy and renewable power sources, such as solar-powered automation systems, to reduce energy consumption in the home.
Lean Manufacturing: We have implemented lean manufacturing processes to achieve a reduction in manufacturing waste. This includes simple methods such as optimizing fabric widths to suit the project or using profiles to minimise waste.
Efficient Logistics: Purchasing components in bulk and manufacturing in-house significantly reduces our freight-related CO2 emissions and lowers transport costs, minimizing the need for excess packaging when visiting for installation.
Supplier Vetting Program: We maintain a rigorous Supplier Sustainability Vetting program, requiring all continental partners to demonstrate a verifiable commitment to energy-efficient and eco-conscious manufacturing practices.

Our Factory Environment & Recycling Initiatives

Our commitment extends to our own operations and ensuring we manage the full lifecycle of our products, including packaging and end-of-life options.

Factory Environment

Operational Transformation: Our manufacturing and showroom facility based in Crawley has been transformed. We have looked at how we operate, how we heat, cool, and light our facility to significantly reduce our environmental impact.

  • Solar panels located on the roof supply and store power to use in everyday operation for lighting and heating.
  • Modern LED lighting is fitted throughout with automated sensor on/off use for energy saving in general areas.
  • We have replaced our gas forklift with a modern re-chargeable battery version.
Recycling Initiatives
  • Our waste packaging is now divided and dealt with independently. Our cardboard representing 60% of our general waste is now recycled using a bundle crush compactor and recycled through third party collections to reduce our land-fill waste and all metal fabrication including steel and aluminium is treated in the same way and recycled through third party collections.
  • We have introduced a Product Take-Back and Recycling Scheme for old blinds. This allows customers to responsibly return components and materials to us for recycling or repurposing at the end of the product’s lifespan, ensuring materials are kept in use and out of landfill.

How You Can Get Involved

  • Select fabrics and components from our recycled range of internal sunblind’s.
  • Select products with longevity to reduce the impact on further manufacturing.
  • Use our advanced automation systems and sensors. This allows for optimised sun protection and climate control, which can contribute to energy savings in both commercial and domestic buildings.
