Markilux 1600 installation in Forest Row, East Sussex

Another recent installation that demonstrates why specifying an awning involves considerably more than choosing the model and fabric.

For this property in Forest Row, East Sussex, the requirement was for a Markilux 1600 measuring 4,500mm wide with a 3,500mm projection, providing substantial coverage across the terrace.

The difficulty was the existing rainwater pipework, which conflicted with the fixing position required to achieve the full width.

Rather than compromise the size or position of the awning, our installation was engineered to bring the fixing position clear of the pipework, enabling the complete 4.5 metre system to be installed across the terrace.

The finished specification combines traditional aesthetics with modern technology: a Tiger Black frame, Markilux 417 50 blue multi-stripe fabric and complementary valance, together with Somfy motorisation, handheld remote control and vibration-based wind protection.

The striped fabric was an excellent choice for this property. Against the traditional red brick and established garden, the finished awning looks as though it belongs there rather than having simply been added to the building.

For Aquarius Blinds, these are often the details that define a successful installation.
