The Traditional Victorian Awning – Hand Crafted Elegance
The Victorian awning, a hallmark of “British design and a product honouring the 19th century”. Known by many as the Box-lot awning, Victorian awning, Traditional shop awning, Butchers blind, and Traditional shop awnings, but despite their myriad names, they are widely regarded as the original and most stable awnings available on the market today. Many variants of the awning are available in today’s market, but the principles remain the same.
Traditionally crafted from seasoned hardwood timber and steel components, modern methods for some remain the same however aluminium hybrids now replace traditions. Variants for both the box housing and front lath are visually very similar, but the design in principle still projects this system to the front when used on the correct facade.
At Aquarius Blinds we offer both the traditional method detailing sustainable individually hand-crafted hardwood boxes as well as a hybrid low maintenance alternative.
The forged arms for both systems are manufactured in house using the latest CAD controlled bending and forging tools to allow complete replication from arm to arm and available in any length up to 2.2 meters.
Produced from round 22mm grade S275 steel, we zinc prime, and powder coat our arms to a weathered architectural grade paint finish for longevity. Traditionally finished in Black, we offer a powder coated finish in any RAL to suit your brand or façades design.
